For district leaders in the IEI community
More intervention capacity. Same staff, same curriculum.
ReadGenie helps your interventionists turn one small-group lesson into a week of skill-aligned practice for struggling readers.
Science of Reading aligned · Tier 2/3 support · Grades 3-6 · Fundable with Title I, IDEA, Title II-A, and Title IV-A
You’ve built the system. The gap is practice.
Screening, structured literacy curriculum, MTSS, intervention blocks: your district has done the hard part. Most struggling readers still don’t get enough corrective practice between sessions to close the gap.
Interventionists are stretched.
They see students a few times a week and spend prep time making word lists and passages by hand.
Independent practice is low-yield.
It’s often generic, passive, and invisible to the educator.
Data lags instruction.
Teams get assessment scores, not evidence of which patterns are sticking day to day.
ReadGenie turns that independent time into structured, skill-aligned practice with evidence for your educators.
How ReadGenie works
The educator stays in control at every step.
01
The interventionist picks it: vowel teams, silent-e, multisyllabic decoding.
Decoding, spelling, word reading, and decodable passages.
They see it, hear it, say it, and write it, with correction when they guess or misread.
04
Educators review evidence
Error patterns shape the next live session.
ReadGenie doesn’t replace intervention. It extends it between sessions.
Fits the system you already run
No curriculum change. No staffing change.
Reinforce skills between intervention sessions
Support literacy centers and IEP reading goals
Provide extra repetition for students who need it
Extend support into after-school and summer programs
Fundable with dollars your district already receives
ReadGenie is supplemental, evidence-based, and serves students identified through your existing MTSS process. That makes it allowable under four federal formula streams. No competitive grant needed.
Title I, Part A
Allowable in schoolwide plans and for identified students in targeted assistance schools. Supplement, not supplant: it adds practice capacity no current expenditure provides.
IDEA Part B and CEIS
Supports IEP reading goals for students with dyslexia and SLD. The 15% CEIS set-aside covers Tier 2/3 students without IEPs, and ReadGenie’s usage data supports CEIS reporting.
Title II, Part A
Covers training interventionists to align practice and act on student error data.
Title IV, Part A
Allowable as effective use of technology. Instructional software isn’t subject to the 15% device cap.
Want the details? We’ll send a district-ready allowable-use memo your CFO or federal programs director can adapt.
Summaries reflect ESEA/ESSA and IDEA as commonly administered. Final determinations rest with your federal programs office and state guidance.
Start with a 12-16 week pilot
A defined cohort of Tier 2/3 readers in grades 3-6. Low lift for your team, clear evidence at the end.
What it involves
Works on existing school devices
Short onboarding for interventionists
Support from our team throughout
What we measure
Usage, engagement, and practice completion
Word reading accuracy and spelling performance
Educator time saved and interventionist feedback
Grounded in reading science, honest about evidence
ReadGenie operationalizes structured literacy, a practice with an extensive research base.
We have early validation from tutoring and family use, and we’re planning usability and efficacy research with reading scientist Dr. Devin Kearns. This supports an ESSA Tier 4 designation, which satisfies the evidence requirement for Title I, II, and IV.
ReadGenie helps schools extend structured literacy practice without adding more prep work for teachers.
Visibility your MTSS and IEP teams can use
Educators see error patterns and next steps. Teams get evidence for MTSS decisions, IEP progress monitoring, and CEIS reporting.
Identify students who need attention
View reading accuracy and fluency indicators
Spot skill gaps and error patterns
Track engagement and consistency
Built for School Trust and Easy Rollout
ReadGenie is designed to support privacy review, lightweight rollout, and responsive support for school teams.
Why we built this

Promit and James spent over five years at Amazon building accessibility technology before founding ReadGenie. Both Promit's parents are teachers, and his mother has taught in San Diego for 20 years. He saw how reading struggles follow students for years when they don’t get enough practice between the moments an educator can work with them. That’s the gap ReadGenie exists to close.
